The Quagga is an extinct species of Zebra. They were once found in quantity on the plains of Africa.

Latin Name: Equus quagga quagga Conservation Status: Extinct
Distribution: South Africa  
The Quagga was once a dominant mammals roaming Africa. They looked like a Zebra from the head back to the front legs. The black and white stripes began to fade in the mid-section, down to brown rear legs. Their underbellies were off-white.
