The Northern Cardinal can be found in abundance
all over Eastern North and South America. The males
are a bright red, with the females being a duller
shade.
Distribution: Eastern Canada (incl. Ontario
& Quebec), Eastern USA, Northeastern Mexico and South
America.
The Northern Cardinal diet is made up
from a mix of fruits, seeds, and insects. This member of the
cardinal family is very family centric. They will always by
flying and moving around in pairs, with both the mother and
father hunting for food. The parents feed the baby birds until
they are completely ready to fend for themselves, even if already
able to fly.
