The Marsh Mongoose will eat just
about any type of meat it comes across. They also eat a lot
of snails and crab because these creatures can be found along
the shore where they make their home. Their large molar teeth
assist in crushing the shells of the sea creatures. When they
are unable to crush it they have actually been seen using
a rock to break the shell. This intelligent behavior is similar
to that of a Sea Otter.
The Marsh Mongoose is kept as a pet in some parts of Africa.
If they are raised properly from a young age they can be tamed
quite well. |
