The Great Horned Owl calls both
North America and South America home. They are light brown in
colour, with black and white feathers mixed in. They have very
distinctive tufts of feathers on the top of their heads, giving
the impression of ears. Like most owls in North America, the
Great Horned Owl's main food source is small
mammals. They perch on a branch at night, and swoop down to
get their prey.
