Elf Owl

The Elf Owl is incredibly small compared to other owls, it is only slightly larger than the average house sparrow.

Distribution: Southern USA and Northern Mexico

Since Elf Owls eat mainly insects they can be found in areas that have an abundance of them. They are even known to chase a single insect for long distances in the air.
